Myeloma Awareness Month

March is Myeloma Awareness Month and It's Your Turn to Take Action!

Aldo Del Col

For the month of March and spanning into April, Myeloma Canada will be hosting a series of online campaigns and events aimed at increasing general awareness of multiple myeloma in the community at large, promoting early detection and diagnosis and advocating for accelerated treatment access in all Canadian provinces for overall improved patient outcomes.

Myeloma Canada invites you to join this movement and spread the word. By making myeloma matter and unifying and strengthening the voice of the Canadian myeloma community, we are putting myeloma on the map.

Check out our calendar of events below. For any additional questions or information request, please feel free to contact us at or 1.888 798‑5771.

I am a firm believer in the power of the patient and grassroots efforts to drive change.

Myeloma Canada Launches a Series of Online Patient Journey Videos for Myeloma Awareness Month

A myeloma diagnosis comes with its own unique set of emotional hurdles and no one understands this better than another person living with myeloma.
Recognizing and identifying some of the challenges you may face along the way, Myeloma Canada documented a series of patient videos relating to significant experiences you may encounter throughout your journey for Myeloma Awareness Month. Now available on YouTube, Facebook and on the Myeloma Canada website, these videos feature other patients sharing their own experiences of living with myeloma.

It’s time to get Kyprolis Funded Now!
Why are Canadian patients still waiting for Kyprolis (carfilzomib) after having been approved by Health Canada over 2 years ago?
It only takes a minute to make a difference.

Bring Awareness to Your Community by Hosting a Multiple Myeloma March in 2018

The Multiple Myeloma March is the only annual large-scale fundraising initiative that exclusively supports the Canadian myeloma community. Each year in September, communities across the country rally for a 5 km walk to increase awareness and raise funds for clinical research, advocacy, and accelerated access to new, game-changing therapies for Canadians.

This year Myeloma Canada celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Multiple Myeloma March, and we’re looking to expand into your community! Volunteers are the foundation of Myeloma Canada and we are always looking for individuals in communities across the country who wish to give their time and energy to make myeloma matter.
The impact of a local Multiple Myeloma March can make a world of a difference for Canadians living with myeloma. View the media clip below to see how one community was able to make a difference.

Getting started is easy and we’re here to support you through every step of the way. If you would like to host a March in your community or find out more information, click on the link below to fill out the request form.
